Monthly Update - July 2021
Welcome back to our monthly blog! We hope everyone has been having a safe and happy summer.
We posted a new video to our YouTube channel. Watch “What is the Digital Divide?” to learn more about the importance of your technology donations and how they help members of our community.
We have a very special donor to recognize this month. Connor, Clark, & Lunn have been donating to BC Tech since 1998. This coming month marks 28 years since the inception of the Computers for Schools Plus program in 1993, announced by Prime Minister Kim Campbell. Connor, Clark, & Lunn have been donating to us for the majority of our residence in British Columbia. How cool is that? Thank you, Connor, Clark, & Lunn.
We would also like to highlight the generous donation of 82 laptops from new donor Vancouver Community Network. Laptop donations are in high demand, and we know these ones will be well used in their home.
We shipped 10 laptops to McLaren Housing Society who reallocated those laptops to local seniors, some who had never owned a computer before! They are now able to connect to West End Seniors Network where they may access training, and now continue new means of communication with family, friends, and services.
