Computers for Schools Plus
Request educational technology for schools, non-profits, Indigenous organizations, and libraries
BC Technology for Learning Society has been delivering the Government of Canada’s Computers for Schools Plus program for 30 years. Originally, computers were only provided to schools. Today, the CFS+ program also provides computers and other digital devices to assist libraries, not-for-profit organizations, Indigenous communities and eligible low-income Canadians. We provide refurbished technology for use in the classroom, library, or computer lab so students may develop the necessary skills for participating in today's knowledge-based, global economy.
We can help you secure needed technology by offering low-cost and free computers along with other devices for your school or organization. We are here to help support your technological needs and the needs of your clients.
About the Program
There are many benefits to using our equipment
Benefits and impacts include
Greater ability to stretch I.T. budgets for equipment;
Equipment is shipped “classroom ready” complete with CPU, LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse and Windows operating system (if required);
Redistributing computers to low-income students in classrooms or clients who do not have a device at home.
Reusing technology extends the useful life of assets and diverts e-waste from landfills;
Provide valuable computer hardware work experience for youth, and volunteer opportunities;
Develop community & afterschool programming.

Eligibility for Microsoft Office:
BC Technology for Learning Society is a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. We are able to provide low-cost Windows and Office with Executive Package devices to eligible parties defined as follows:
Computers distributed to individuals eligible for the Technology Access Program (someone on social or disability assistance or otherwise specially designated by the government) may select Microsoft Office as a software choice later on. Non-profits that wish to redistribute technology to their clients may also request that Microsoft Office be added. We are not able to accommodate any requests for Microsoft Office where it will be used internally at the non-profit or library. All computers must go to an eligible client’s home. Click the link to see the complete program guidelines. This is a Microsoft program; BC Tech for Learning must comply with TAP and its guidelines.
Non-profits may instead access or request Microsoft Office from:
TechSoup - https://www.techsoup.ca/product-catalog
Microsoft - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/nonprofits/eligibility, or use free Office Web Apps at www.office.com.
