Monthly Update - July 2025
We hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far! One more month to go until school starts again.
Our annual Donor Recognition Event article with Business in Vancouver is now available on their website. Thanks to the BIV for their continued partnership and congratulations again to this year’s award winners. We’ve been pleased to continue recognizing their contributions through the article and various social media posts.
Our Executive Director, Mary-Em Waddington was interviewed on Simon Fraser University’s CJSF radio, where she shared some historical background on BC Tech for Learning and the Computers for Schools Plus program, and talked about how donated equipment is used. Thanks, CJSF!
The Burnaby Board of Trade toured our workplace as part of their Member Site Visits. We were happy to share more about our work with the Burnaby business community and be featured in some of their Instagram posts.
Thanks to all who donated in July including the City of Vancouver, YVR Airport, Concord National LLP, Douglas College, Stockhouse Publishing, and many, many Federal Government Departments.
July also featured an online Summer Sale, which was a huge success! We were pleased to offer some discounted equipment to our clients on Featured Inventory ahead of a very busy season. This was also a great opportunity to make equipment more accessible to organizations outside the Lower Mainland who are often excluded from participating in our regular garage sales due to the drive. It also helped us exceed 800 devices distributed in the month, which is a huge number considering schools are closed for the summer! Our infamous Back to School Garage Sale is coming up in September! Be sure to check your inbox for your invitation or sign up to receive one here.
Looking ahead to August, we are offering pick ups for small donations - no minimum piece counts required - for businesses in Surrey, New Westminster, the Tricities, Burnaby, Vancouver, or North Vancouver, August 19 & 20. This is part of BC Tech’s first Business Tech Drive! If you wish to participate, please submit this form by August 15 so we can determine the amount of truck space needed. Rob and Keely look forward to doing the pickups and meeting with donors directly.
Your Donations Matter.
