Monthly Update - August 2025
Can you believe that summer is already over? We hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the sunshine this year! Now it’s time to jump straight into the trenches of Back to School season.
More laptops were delivered straight to the Surrey Welcome Centre for redistribution to newcomer students in the Surrey School District through our ongoing partnership with the Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society.
James Clendenan returned for another Lunch & Learn, where he talked to our interns about the current I.T. job landscape, and shared some helpful tips about important skills they will need in future workplaces. We learned a lot about how soft skills like communication, willingness to take initiative, and knowing how to talk to peers and colleagues at networking events can help set future I.T. experts up for success! Thanks, James, for another great presentation!
We hosted our first ever tech drive in August! Thanks to our donor participants for your tech donations - Rob and Keely had a fun time driving around the Lower Mainland picking up devices and meeting everyone!
August kicked off Back to School season at BC Tech, including our Back to School Garage Sale. We once again welcomed clients into our warehouse to select tech devices for their organizations ahead of the school year, including our highly coveted free laptop boxes. Thanks to all who came out!
Also included in our Back to School offerings, BC Tech is pleased to offer 5 free laptops with free shipping to first-time clients. There will be a lottery for 5 available boxes of 5 laptops. If you have never requested tech from us in the past, add the free laptop lottery item to your cart on Featured Inventory and complete your checkout by September 22 to enter. If you aren’t eligible, share this opportunity with all your school and non-profiter friends! Laptops will be shipped on September 23.
We are partnering with the Computer Using Educators for their October 24th conference in West Vancouver. This is always a great opportunity to speak with teachers and highlight that CFS+ equipment is available for redistribution to low income students or for speciality computer clubs like Mr. Kask’s at Robert Batement Secondary.
Thank you as always to our August donors, including the City of Vancouver, Nicola Wealth Management, Metro Vancouver, Marcon Construction Ltd, NTT DATA, Impact North Shore, and many Government of Canada departments.
Your Donations Matter.
