Why Donate
Reduce the Digital Divide
The digital divide refers to the gap between those who benefit from the Digital Age and those who do not. Our clients are schools, non-profits, Indigenous groups, libraries, and low-income families. Donated tech allows us to provide affordable options to those who might not otherwise be able to afford a computer.
Divert E-Waste
Manufacturing a new computer takes at least 240 kg (530 pounds) of fossil fuels, 22 kg (48 pounds) of chemicals, and 5 tons of water. Donating computers extends their useful life, and keeps working devices out of waste streams. We responsibly recycle all tech that we cannot refurbish and redistribute.
It's Convenient!
We make donating tech as easy as we can by offering a free pick-up service for large donations. You set your pick-up date through the form linked above, palletize or box up equipment so that it's ready for our courier, then sit back and relish in the feeling of knowing that you did a great thing!
Post-Donation
What should you expect after you donate? There are a few things you can look forward to once we have processed your technology donation.
-
Computer equipment is considered an in-kind donation. Each piece has an individual fair market value based on the age and condition of the item and assessing each piece takes time. Receipts are issued once a month and come with a thank you letter sharing the impact your donation made.
Tax receipts are only issued for equipment that is reused. Items sent to recycling have zero fair market value.

Each month we publish a blog updating our supporters on events, clients and key donors. We’d love to recognize you!
We encourage you to take a picture of your team with the donations so that we can use it on our posts and blog!
