Monthly Update - February 2022

We hope everyone is looking forward to spring just as much as we are! February was an exciting month here at BC Tech. This month we received a lot of fantastic donations from our donors. A special thank you to Traction on Demand for their donation of 394 24” monitors. This is a timely donation as the monitors will be used for the Skills Canada National Competition this May before going to their next forever home.

We are looking forward to the Skills Canada National Competition, as this is the first time the event will be hosted since 2019. As a proud sponsor of Skills Canada, we will have a booth set up at the event and a Try-a-Trade event to teach participants about the insides of your computer. This is a great learning opportunity for students to see the wide world of skilled trade.

We’d also like to give a special shout out to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for their generous donation of 315 laptops. Laptops have been in huge demand since the pandemic started and we expect those to be sent to their new homes very shortly. Thank you CFIA!

We also welcomed three new hardware technicians, Shadow, Rhenay and Liam, and Arin who joined us as the new marketing and communications intern. We look forward to working with them over the next few months.

Looking towards March, we are nearing the end of our fiscal year and working to meet our computer target for Connecting Families, on top of our regular Computers for Schools + and Internet for Good distribution, and preparing for our audited Inventory Count. Time for a big push to finish off strong! We’ll see you in our next update.

Your Donations Matter.

Stay safe and healthy.
