Monthly Update - October 2025

This fall sure hasn’t slowed down, with lots of events, big distributions, and milestones. So let’s dive right on in!

At the beginning of the month, we had George from Raccoopack Media come to the office for a Lunch & Learn, where he shared his extensive knowledge on different parts of the IT world, including software, game, and app development! Our interns brought great questions for George, which led to valuable discussions about careers in IT. Are you an IT expert interested in sharing your insights with those at the beginning of their careers? Reach out to mwaddington [ @ ] reusetechbc.ca.

We joined the Computer Using Educators of BC for their annual conference as their platinum sponsor, where Mary-Em was invited to give a presentation ahead of the keynote. Luke ran the BC Tech booth, sharing valuable program information with teachers attending the conference. Thank you to CUEBC for inviting us back!

We recently shared a new blog post as part of our “Technology for Change” series, where we highlighted our partnership with Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society. This blog was written in celebration of 1 year and almost 1,000 laptops delivered through this partnership. We are proud to share that since this blog post was published, we have surpassed 1,000 devices! Read our blog post to learn more about how this incredible partnership is helping students in Surrey.

Thanks to this month’s incredible donors, including ActiveCo Technology Management, City of Vancouver, F.One Marketing Inc., Douglas College, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and more. You are the reason we are able to continue to hit these amazing distribution milestones.

The only spooky sight we were faced with this Halloween was e-waste on its way to the depot! You can do your part to help keep reusable devices out of the recycling by donating your retired computer technology. Visit our Donate page to learn more about what types of donations we accept.
