Monthly Update - December 2025

Happy New Year! We are rested up with full bellies, and are ready for the last big push ahead of our fiscal year end in March! December, as always, was a shorter month for us, but we still have lots of news to share. Let’s dive right in!

Thanks to our quarterly Featured Inventory Garage Sale, we had a big month for distribution despite closing for the Christmas break. 674 devices left our warehouse in December, smashing our monthly goal. Thanks to our staff and volunteers who always work to make sure these events run smoothly!

December marked the end of internships for Aman and Leo. Thanks for all your hard work refurbishing 691 and 445 devices respectively during your term. We wish you all the best with your future careers!

Thanks to generous cash donations, BC Tech’s second Secret Santa campaign was a success, helped again in part by Jat Saini Realty. We were able to send laptops to Tech for Home and Connecting Families program recipients at no cost to these individuals. Did you know that we accept cash donations year round? Check out our CanadaHelps to support our society, or pay for a computer for a family in need.

Thank you to our December corporate donors including Teekay Shipping Canada, Arc’Teryx Equipment, and Outback Team Building. Donating computer hardware supports sustainability efforts by keeping usable devices out of the recycling stream, and making sure those in need can attend classes, apply for work, and access government resources

Just before our holiday break, we got to attend the Founding Peoples Support Society, KC Society, and Asian Food Bank Christmas hamper event, hosted by Surrey-Guildford MLA Garry Begg. BC Tech for Learning donated 10 devices - one per family. Each family was so happy to receive their Christmas hamper, which included a turkey for Christmas dinner. We are thankful to be part of a community that uplifts one another and ensures that the holidays are joyous for all.

Your Donations Matter.
